In the kit speed testing system on highways driving on highways, motorists should not exceed the maximum speed limit permitted for their vehicle.  The speed checker will come for the highway traffic police as it will only provide a digital display in accordance with a vehicle's speed but also sound an alarm if the vehicle exceeds the permissible speed for the highway. 

In the speed, testing system kit on highways, two sensors based on IR are there to detect the speed of the vehicle. The data from the IR sensors are first converted into digital and then sent to the microcontroller. The controller measure speed based on the time difference between the cut of the two sensors as the distance between them is fixed. A dot-matrix LCD is there to detect display the speed.

• A buzzer is connected with the microcontroller to trigger the alarm in case of over speed.
• GSM modem is also there connected with a microcontroller to send the SMS to the authorized person in case of speed violation.
